Biography

​

Jamie Amadruto is a sound designer, music producer, audio engineer, singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and creative director based out of Queens, New York. He attended The Institute of Audio Research and graduated from the Audio Recording and Production Program with a 4.0 GPA in June of 2013. 

 

As a sound designer, Jamie collaborates with choreographers and directors to create avant-garde and emotionally moving works of sound for dance, theater, and film. Sonically, he draws inspiration from dark, cinematic scores and ethereal, synthetic soundscapes. His work has been heard at: Theatre Row, The Clemente, Triskelion Arts Center, The Players Theater, Laguardia Performing Arts Center, City Center Studios, The Tank, The Wild Project, Alchemical Studios, The Artery, The Phoenix Bar, RWS Studios, and Prime Produce. His work has also been heard internationally at The Pacific Theater and The Cultch Matinees in Vancouver, CA.

As a musician and music producer, Jamie released his debut solo album, TRANSPOSED, under his artist alias, VØID in March of 2018. His second album, Timeout, under the alias, Dietevil, was released in September of 2020. funded in part by the Queens Arts Fund New Work Grant distributed by Queens Council on The Arts was released in December of 2020. Since the release of these albums, Jamie has been collaborating with other artists' productions, set to be released throughout 2021.

 

As a live sound audio engineer, Jamie is an A1 and the Audio Coordinator for famed immersive theatrical experience, Sleep No More, at The McKittrick Hotel and its venues, The Manderley Bar, The Heath/The Attic, and Gallow Green since 2014. He is currently a freelance engineer with The Manhattan School of Music, Le Poisson Rouge, The Riverside Theater, One Dream Sound, and various other production companies..
